Name: Z'yl [ zuh – eye – ul ] (Zyliel) Turns: Twenty Seven Turns Gender: Male Rank: Bluerider [ former apprentice harper ] Sexuality: Asexual [ he doesn't look at people like that ] Weyrmate: No
Appearance: It's rather amazing how much like Two Z'yl looks...Except for the general lizard like appearance and greenness of the little lizard. He's thin, not quite to the point where he looks malnourished, but to the point where he looks like a good meal would do him wonders. He burns everything off too quickly, his metabolism eating up anything that he manages to shovel in because of the amount of exercise he does. Stick arms, stick legs, something that is almost waist shaped in the middle of him, and slim hands. Really rather delicate looking in some incidences. Yet despite his exercise, he doesn't have the right diet for proper muscle mass (nor does e do the correct amount of exercise for that diet, it's amazing he doesn't fall over every now and then). He's just...Weedy. Weedy, slinky and altogether almost looking like he's not there. Accompanied with his five foot three inches of height...He near well vanishes in crowded places when he shuts up.
Face wise, he's got a rather pointed face. Still handsome, but slightly...gaunt? Well, maybe not even that. His cheekbones are pronounced in an almost girlish way, and his cheeks are thin, making his cheekbones even more noticeable. His nose stands in his face and does a pretty good job of appearing nose like, doing the things a nose does, and what not. You couldn't exactly commend it for being special. Zy has...normal features on the rest of his face; normal eyebrows, normal eyes (if slightly narrow) all set on his face normally...Sure, he's handsome as men go, but nothing overly special.
Personality: He's a nut. By 'nut' I don't mean as mad as a hatter, or that he's completely lost his marbles. Z'yl is a psycho in the way that he seems to constantly be on some sort of sugar high at all times, and doesn't ever want to come down. Not so much childish, but a speaking-at-twenty-miles-an-hour-while-juggling-a-fish sort of personality. Well, maybe not the fish, he can't juggle after all. His hand to eye coordination would have to be so much better then it is for that to ever happen. He's just a little bit clumsy...A little being a rather large understatement. He doesn't trip over his own feet, per say, but drops things and runs into things more then he should.
Back to the topic at hand; Zy talks fast, thinks fast, acts fast, and has to constantly be doing something. It's much safer to give him something to do that he'll fail at then let him bomb around the kitchen looking for something to do, and most likely leaving some sort of mass chaos or fire in his wake when you finally manage to chuck him out. Hell, as long as he's allowed to wander around while he does it, he'll peel potatoes for you. He's not even a helpful person, he's just thankful for a job. He hates just sitting down and doing nothing, or standing there and doing nothing. Anything is better then doing nothing. This sort of makes him a hard person to be around unless you're happy to be dragged along on whatever adventure he decides he wants to do next.
He does so like his adventures, as well. As long as there's some nook and cranny that he hasn't seen Zy will go looking for it. He loves to know every little place where ever he is (accompanied with that fact that he doesn't like to not be doing something makes him seem a little compulsive, but that would be another paragraph entirely) and the Weyr has provided an excellent place for this so far. It helps if there's someone to go on these adventures with, say...A candidate of some sort, or at least someone with free time. It doesn't even matter if he barely knows them – he can get to know them on the way round after all.
He's great at socialising with people. Which is not always a good thing. He gets on people's nerves more times out of ten then most people you meet. He's just an annoying person to meet. Constantly trying to talk to people, invading personal space...Faranth, it's surprising no one has ever punched the guy. Plus, he tends to spill secrets. IF you tell him, then the whole Weyr will find it out. Oh, he tries, he's just not very good at keeping his mouth shut. Loud mouth...
History: His parents didn't like him – if that wasn't made obvious by the fact that his mother sent him away to his aunt when he was around six Turns old, then you're blind. He didn't mind it, of course. As far as little Zy was concerned his new mother was much better then his old mother, even if she wasn't his mother-mother and was actually his aunt. The fact did not stop him calling her 'mother' however. For the first few months he was there, she tried to stop him, but being unable to have children herself, she finally gave in, to the point where she treated him like she would treat her own child. Both his calling of his aunt 'mother', and her treatment of him made his real mother hate him even more. She visited, of course, claiming that he was still her son. That was only in name after he turned seven.
His real mother was called Liel, she was the daughter of a well off merchant and a Weaver, the sister of Gillis – Zyliel's aunt. She'd already had three children by the time Zyliel came around, the two youngest being girls and the oldest being a boy. She hadn't wanted another child, especially another boy. Zylan, Zyliel's father, wanted another child though. He lavished all his children with gifts and love whenever he could afford it, which was not often enough for him, and the gifts were often small, easy to find, but often enough that the little children though that their father had more money then the Hold altogether.
So, when Zyliel was born, he was adored by his father and hated by his mother because of his father's love. He soon figured that out, when he was old enough to understand - around the age of five. He started avoiding his father, worried that he'd make his mother hate him even more, but it didn't affect the man. He knew about the boy's mother as much as the boy did. It didn't help things though. His mother's hate didn't show itself in mistreatment, she didn't beat him, hurt him, tell him off constantly. Nothing of the sort. She just did not praise him, did not offer him any extra attention, there was always just a...blank look of simple 'oh, yes, very nice, dear, run and play' on her face. She didn't put up with him, never told him bedtime stories, never told him thins would be all right. To a little child who just wants to make his mother happy that's torture. He didn't know what to do.
Despite his mother falling out of his life, his father never did, even when he was sent away. He still received birthday presents, random presents, letters, love, adoration. He was still his father's child, even if his mother was no longer emotionally his mother. But as times got harder, gifts got smaller, until finally he only received letters. Two was his last ever present, most likely the reason she was a flitter in the first place. Little Zy simply adored her, she was someone to run around with, and he did so love to just run when he was younger. Not that she ever bothered to run around much at all, lazy thing she was. But she was his first little pet, so he was sharding well proud of the little beastie. No matter how many times she snapped at him. He was still only a Hold boy though, and no matter how many times he put it off, he had to take up some sort of work eventually. 'Harping' – as he called it – managed to work it's way to the top of the list, and at the age of twelve was once more sent from home. This time to the Hall, but it was still being sent away. He sulked for half a day before he realised that when he didn't have lessons he could go explore. Forget homework, there were places to find!
Forgetting the homework made him rather unpopular with the more hard working apprentices, and nearly all of the Harpers who taught him. When he was supposed to be writing out chords, he was out climbing trees; when he should have memorised a stanza, he was chasing runners. But when he was a terror out of class, he wasn't in class. He did try his hardest, but he wasn't exactly the best at reading music or playing instruments. Sure, he managed to get the hang of the guitar before his time was up, but that was about it. Singing he was better at. Making the songs up...No, singing them, yes. Slow songs, as well, nothing really fast or his words end up slurring together when he sings, which no one likes to hear. Nice Harpers let him get some slower ones, if it meant he'd do some work. Lovely people.
He hit eighteen Turns, and they decided to stick him with a particular teacher and station him in a Hold for a little bit of time. That was that. Even the drinking party that followed didn't seem to stick in his memory...All right, so the drinking party might have had a rather big impact on his memory of that day...And the previous two days before that. Lots of good wine was to be drunk, plus the bed he woke up on was nice enough that he didn't care. Not that he knew whose it was, or if anything happened in it. He doubted it though. Not many of the people he knew were gay...Didn't even know if he was gay himself, so it made the act itself rather difficult...Besides, loosing your virginity in a drunken fling was not exactly someone's dream event. Forgetting that event almost entirely, he went back to the Hold his aunt lived at, having wheedled his way into being stationed there...Only to be stationed elsewhere almost instantly.
So, away from the tiny little Hall to Telgar Hold...Maybe...He hadn't bothered to remember...It wasn't all that important to him anyway. There he settled into a life of actually doing more work then he was accustomed to. There was singing at various occasions if people could afford it, retuning things (guitars, mainly, since word got around that he was rubbish with anything else) and, well...Being a Harper, under someone else's instruction. Which was supposed to last half a Turn before he went back to walk the tables. It totally took up his 'climbing-up-trees' time. It was such a time when he was Searched. As a matter of fact he got stuck up a tree, and was just staring out when something spoke to him. What are you doing? Get down from there. He found himself staring at a Green with the intelligence of a grub that had been squashed. Or at least in his mind. How was he supposed to get down when he was stuck? However he got down (falling...painfully), when he did he was told that there was most definitely a chance of him Impressing to a dragon from one of the eggs that were hardening on the sands, and he should stand as a candidate for the clutch. Brilliant! He could get away from unhappy customers and work! Little did he know then that he would actually have to work at the Weyr as a candidate, rather then mooch off them. So he went. To Telgar Weyr, as it happened (and he remembered the name of the place this time) where for an entire Turn he stayed. And waited. And waited. Standing at two hatchings before the final third brought about a dragonet that would actually put up with him.
After he Impressed Bath things changed a little. For one he had to actually look after something other then himself (less time spent with his face in a cup of wine, singning bawdy songs for people who asked for them). Weyrlinghood was a whirlwind of activity and training for him - training that didn't actually make entirely that much of a difference to matter in the slightest when it came to calming him down. It did change Bath, though that was mainly in the size department and ability at flying department. Not so much in the personality department either. Z'yl being Z'yl, however...Things got stagnant. Nothing was exciting anymore, nothing happened. So what does he do? Apply for a transfer. Where to? Akum. Most definately not because he just wanted to get out and do something but because he most seriously wished to help with the reconstruction of the Weyr. That was totally it. It was tentatively accepted, and only because Bath's begging was becoming an embarrassment to the Weyr no doubt. Akum proved for the next two Turns to be a continued source of amusement and interest. Hopefully this time he won't get bored, yes?
Other: He sleeps in the nude and has a tendenacy to snore.

Name: Bath Turns: Ten Turns Color: Blue [ 2a1dde ]
Appearance: Bath is...Not feminine, not quite, the words doesn't apply to all of him. His build, or example, is anything but that. Large both in length and bulk, he's certainly impressive for a Blue. Muscles slide under his hide like they might in, say, a Brown, but not usually a Blue; it does suit him in some strange way, however. But the legs are short. Short and squat he doesn't do so well on the ground, he's just not built for running, but it does help him in the air, giving him a more stream lined shape when he tucks his legs in. His tail is the only thing part about him, slimming to almost whip like proportions that look odd compared to the rest of him. If it wasn't for the muscle along his back he'd find steering almost impossible. It's Bath's hide that suits him the most. A bright, deeply saturated shade of brown that's almost reaching on bluey-violet. It doesn't quite manage to reach it, luckily, and he keeps some of his dignity. There's a small patch of spots on his left shoulder that are of a much paler shade of blue, and much easier to look at.
Personality: Bath is just...One massive, dangerous bundle of fun. If there's only one thing Bath loves in life (except for Z'yl of course) then it's making sure that everything he does in a day is good fun for everyone involved. Maybe not everyone, it depends on on what he's doing and if it involves getting someone else in trouble or pranking them. Usually Bath is too kind to even consider getting someone else into a sticky situation, but if Z'yl manages to convince him otherwise...Well, that's a different matter entirely. Bath will always listen to Zy, even if he doesn't agree with him, and he will always do what the man says. Quite often he's not supposed to have done what his rider has said and whenever that happens he tends to get terribly confused. It's not that he's stupid, far from it, but he's just a little too keen to make sure that his rider and those he likes are happy. If someone wants him to do something, you'd better move out of the way fast because he'll do it; if you want to find something, Bath will be one of the first to offer his assistance. He just wants everyone to like him; and it shows. Bath can't hide his emotions at all and he will show them whatever way he can. Usually it's through the most random of similes and sayings.
Other: Bath, as it happens, likes baths.

Name: Two Turns: Seventeen Turns [ hatched spring ] Species: Fire-Lizard [ Green, 4f7c58 ]
Appearance: She's a tiny slip of a thing, made for the air and those tricky little dips and vies that Greens are famous for. If she actually bothered she'd make a decent flyer, as it is, she's a little out of practise, and prone to clumsiness in the air. Having a tail that is seemingly too thin to act as much of a rudder doesn't help either, especially since she hasn't got the muscles along her neck to balance it out. She's a lovely shade of slightly greyed out green, not bright, not dark and maybe a little mossy, a nice colour to look at.
Personality: Lazy, Stubborn, Decisive

I really like him! Great job on the application. I did notice one problem though. It mentions that he has a flit in his history, but it seems you have forgotten the pet information for the little flit. If you would kindly add this to his profile, I would be more then willing to accept him ^^
