[/i] The strict tone turned to a whine. Sari beamed at her dragon, feeding her meat immediately.| - Human Bio - |
Name: Sari
Turns: Seventeen
Gender: Female
Rank: Weyrling
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Weyrmate: N/A
Appearance: Sari's brown, almost black eyes are huge, framed by soft lashes. Her skin is a medium tone, not quite pale and not quite tan, with a soft, rosy blush on her cheeks. Her lips are a light pink, and is rather uncharacteristic, as is her nose. Simple, generic lips, average size, average shape. All together, her features are not beautiful, but not ugly. She is rather plain looking, perhaps with a hint of pleasantness. She is certainly not everyone’s taste, and only gets attention mainly for her dragon. Her face's roundness and her large eyes give her more of a young look, which is enhanced by her five foot tall, slight stature.
Her hair is a mousy brown, falling just past her shoulders with informal waves. Some days it is curlier than others. Sometimes it is nearly bone straight, but this is much more rare. She tends to wear pastel colored, light-fitting clothing, or bright clothing on exceptionally cheerful days. Her favorite outfit is a soft violet skirt and a small white shirt. She rarely wears shoes, enjoying the feeling of dirt on her calloused feet. She has small, soft hands and a boney figure.
Personality: Sari has learned some social skills since her Impression. She is a bit of a diplomat, always trying to please both sides and sooth over any disputes. She has learned to calmly assert her position, but is never pushy or stubborn. Although she gives others time to think, she never wastes any time herself. It is as though she holds herself to higher expectations than any others. She is a logical thinker, able to carefully analyze and explain her position. When she first meets someone, she still has blips of nervousness, but ignores it. Once she warms up to someone, she can be friendly and sweet, considering she's in a good mood. In a bad mood, she can be rough and sarcastic with her loved ones. Of course, she always apologizes after, and luckily, she isn’t usually hurtful.
She always stands up for what she believes in, especially if no one else is defending it, and when she is incredibly comfortable she can be a bit outspoken. She loves animals, and has often taken injured ones home with her. In fact, she absolutely adores nature. She prefers to spend her time surrounded by plants and animals than inside. In fact, she prefers spending time with animals than other humans. Of course, she is a fan of any outdoor activity, especially running. Although she is short, she is lean, making her a skilled runner. She enjoys it: it is a hobby, a coping mechanism, a life-long passion. She is always respectful to all people, whether it is a Weyrwoman, Holder, Candidate, or Drudge. However, if respect is not returned, she quickly returns it. Perhaps her most visible flaw is her concern. She feels a deep compassion and sympathy for all creatures. It seems to be a good point, but she will place anything aside for another creature. It is often self-sacrificing, and can hurt other’s comfort to save the life of a broken animal.
History: Sari was always the youngest child out of five. Her mother was a fan of bigger families. She had four brothers. Growing up in Akum Hold was difficult surrounded by wrestling boys. It helped, of course, that they were expected to work as farmers while she stayed home and cleaned, but she was lonely. She hated all of them except Mieron. He was the oldest, and he protected her. He told the other boys to leave her alone. Everyone called her “Sarisera” at that time except him. She was his little sister Sera, and he was her big brother Mier. She admired him so much. He was gentle and kind, and wanted to be a dragonrider. Mier told her stories about dragons, what they were like, and glorious histories. He told her how their world was only safe because the dragonriders protected them from the cruel felines. One day, he was selected to be a candidate.
Sari was so excited for him. She was sure he would impress, and wanted to be there for his shining achievement. She was only nine then, give or take a few years, but the memory was clear in her mind. Just before the Hatching, Meiron had asked her to call him M'ron. "I want to get used to it," he had said. It was the first Hatching she had ever attended. From the sands, he had waved to her, a wave just for her. He had been so excited when that little brown had crawled up to him. The brown knocked him out of the way with his claw, unknowing to the damage it would do. Meiron had been rushed to the healer, but there was little they could do for him.
Maybe Meiron would have impressed a bronze dragon. Maybe he'd have become the Weyrleader. He could have had such a full future, but it was too late for him now. She would impress a dragon and fight for the common people like the dragonriders he had told her about.
After Meiron's death, Sari's father fled. Her mother cried, having lost her most darling baby boy and the love of her life. She immersed herself in her remaining children, giving them anything they asked for. Sari couldn't stand seeing her mother like that, so she left the hold for the first time on her own. She began to bond with nature, in a way she couldn’t in the human touched, tilled land. She admired the sweet scents and beautiful surroundings. As she walked, she saw a small blue fire lizard. It was crying out in pain, since a thorn pierced its wing.
She drew closer to it, and it shrieked at her. Sari jumped, but came closer again. She held it down, so it wouldn't bite her, and tugged the thorn free. It looked at her and gave a thankful chirp. The wing still lay limp. She inspected the wing, and realized that the poor creature must have collided with something, and the thorn was the least of its problems. Using tiny branches and some thread from her skirt, she fashioned a makeshift splint.
She took the creature home with her. Her mother argued at first, but eventually gave in. She nursed it back to health. Once it was healthy, she let it free. It was hesitant at first, but then happy to be able to fly in the skies again. She took in other animals after that: hungry, sick, and injured, and got them back to full health. She longed to impress a little pet of some sort.
She also wanted to be a dragonrider, for Meir. He would have been proud of her. "That's my Sera," he'd say.
Soon after, at twelve turns, she found a fire lizard clutch. The clutch was a clutch of ten. The mother was not around, so she assumed it was a green’s clutch. Soon after, however, she found a dead golden body nearby. She had cried for a couple hours, unable to comprehend it. She was there when her secret clutch hatched. The eggs were weak, having missed their mother’s warmth, so only the strongest hatched. It was only half. All five fire lizards Impressed to her: a small gold, an average-sized brown, a large blue, and two greens. One green was rather large, but the other was small and weak, a pale green. The weak green survived the night, while the other green was dead in the morning. Sari cried again, more this time. She learned the pain of losing a mindmate, even if it was just a small fire lizard. By the end of the week, the brown was also gone. Luckily, Rinta and Bir were the only casualties. Ryieh, Pinch, and Lyre were healthy.
She took on the nickname Sari. It was shorter than the strange name her mother had been so fond of. Her brothers took to it, as they all insisted on nicknames for the same reason. For example, poor Nirelinasoren was Soren. Not that she cared much what they called her, though. At Mieron’s death, they had been nicer to her. She wasn’t much of a people person--sure, she was friendly and kind, but there was always that anxiety, that shy nervousness, hidden under her smiling eyes. Of course, she adores all creatures, especially dragons. She was so excited to be searched.
At her very first Hatching, she Impressed. She was silent, brimming with a wonderful excitement. The beautiful Celestial dragon was slightly small for a green, but large for a blue, but she was determined. Sarimine, I am your Seranoth. Please bring me food, I am just so hungry!

Name: Seranoth
Turns: 1 Turn
Color: Celestial (233c71||979795)
Appearance: Seranoth is (although this is relatively unknown) on the smaller side of the scale for her color. She is the size of a large green, but one green from her clutch is larger than she is. Her coloring is a deep, velvety blue, a lovely color seen on few other dragons. Her silver markings cover her body, manifesting themselves in a variety of wisps, twists, and swirls. These markings follow a delicate pattern, complex and strange all at once. The only breaks from this pattern can be seen along her back. By her back ridges, a speckling of silver can be seen. The speckles concentrate closer to her ridges, which themselves are a deep silver.
Her wing membranes also deviate from this general design. The blue is a bit greyer, the silver a bit bluer. As a result, the markings aren’t as prominent, nor are they as organized. Rather, thin streaks line the membrane. They seem to start at the top of her wing, and trail to the bottom, rather than from back to wingtip. Besides the silver on her wings, her grayish markings are quite metallic, and nearly reflective in direct sunlight. Even in such light, this unique characteristic cannot be seen except to those who are quite observant or spend a lot of time with her.
Her body’s shape is just as delicate as her markings. Although she is stockier and stronger than the average green, she seems more feminine. She can make her muscular, powerful body seem lithe and slender, mostly from how she holds herself. Her wings are longer than the average green, but also slightly thinner. This gives her speed and agility over stamina, but she holds more stamina than most greens as well. Her ridges are somewhat rounded and smooth. Like all Celestials, she is quite graceful. Although she is well-shaped and delicately colored, she is not the most lovely dragon in her clutch. She is pretty, feminine, and strong, yes, but also somewhat plain--besides her completely unique coloring, of course.
Personality: Without a doubt, Seranoth lives up to the quality of being mysterious. While she is often forthcoming and open with Sari (for the most part), she enjoys being elusive and cryptic with other dragons. Of course, she is known to be just as confusing to her rider. She can make her point if she chooses, but prefers to at least weigh comments down with hidden messages or analogies. Although she can seem quiet and solemn, she enjoys playing with other dragons. Among her favorite games, however (just under hiding Sari’s clothes and just above splashing water on innocent civilians) is playing mind games with other dragons.
She finds amusement in many things. Most of them are strange things, however. She loves watching fights play out, for example. Should a dragon antagonize her, she will respond with detached amusement, poking and prodding at them. Watching other dragons become irritated is rather amusing, it seems. Like most Celestials, she likes to watch things play out. This can even be seen even as she catches her prey: she watches, she waits, she pounces. While she acts over-confident and haughty, she is nothing of the sort.
She is teasing and loving to her rider. Although she will never be as sweet as a green, she is kind and caring, without a doubt. Much of it probably comes from her rider’s concern for all life. Still, when push comes to shove, especially concerning Sari, she will fight. She just believes other ways of amusement suit her well. She is rather calm and rational. She rarely gets angry, and when she does it is surprising. Instead of a fiery anger, it is a quiet snowstorm.
Like her green siblings, she can be quite flirty, when she chooses to. It is all a game to her, and she does love all the males. While she isn’t quite vain, she does think herself to be pretty. She does not feel superior to others, except the dragons who prove themselves to be rather idiotic. In fact, if a queen or bronze seems foolish to her, she will show disrespect. Of course, it will be subtle, and she will believe that the dragon will not understand. Like all greens and blues, she is sensitive to other’s emotions. She would make a good search dragon for this reason, but it does not amuse her, so she never will.

Name: Lyre
Turns: 5 Turns
Species: Fire lizard
Appearance: Lyre is a rather deep gold, almost a burnt color. It isn’t a particularly metallic shade, but she does have a slight sheen, one which intensifies when she is close to rising. She is a rather small gold, and her clutches often reflect this; she has not yet clutched a gold, and her clutches are small as well. She is petite, and quite feminine, with smooth curves and a lean body. Her coloring often changes in the light, ranging from a vibrant yet deep gold to an almost golden-brown color, much like an ambers. Her true coloring, of course, is very gold.
Personality: Lyre is quite the average queen. She is vain, believing herself to be the most beautiful creature on earth. Sari, her human-pet, is pretty as well, but far inferior to her. Ryieh and Pinch, of course, are her servants, who she often scolds about not following her queen’s demands. Any human or dragon nearby is a perch or a slave, and should expect to be treated as such! Female fire lizards receive no attention unless they are queens, and even then they are inferior, so Lyre allows them few words. Males of all kinds, even blues and browns, receive flirting from her, but naturally, this is only for her enjoyment. No, she will do with no less than a bronze. Her mate will always be the strongest, fastest, most agile in the Weyr, and she will accept no less. An inferior male, such as a brown or blue, that gets too close when she rises, may get mauled rather severely.
Other: Gold (d59c07)
Name: Pinch
Turns: 5 Turns
Species: Fire lizard
Appearance: Pinch is one of the palest greens in the Weyr. Her coloring, without her markings, would be nearly indistinguishable from white. She is proven to be green, however. Her hue deepens to a rather light but soft shade on her wingtips. Like her coloring suggests, she is certainly on the small side. In fact, she is a tiny thing. Her shape itself is wispy and delicate. While her hide isn’t the most desirable of colors, many blues and other smaller males find her cute. When she finally rises, she will certainly only have a small number of chasers, mainly blue, but they will pursue her determinedly.
Personality: This little critter is both sweet and shy. She is endearing, with a natural charm. Many croon over this creature not for her appearance, but for how she acts. Pinch is often quiet and contained, but can often be seen clinging to her beloved. She is certainly shy, especially around new people. She has a tendency to hide in Sari’s hair, peeking out at the strange new beings. Pinch is surprisingly insightful, though she acts completely innocent and unknowing. She is certainly not a flirtatious green. In fact, if someone tries to flirt with her, she is more likely to act as though she doesn’t know they are. Perhaps this shy innocence is why she has not risen yet.
Other: Green (cef5cc)
]Name: Ryieh
Turns: 5 Turns
Species: Fire Lizard
Appearance: Syrien, or Ryieh, as he is often called, is a deep, velvety blue. His coloring is lovely, and almost completely uniform throughout. On his back, especially around his wings and sharp ridges, are freckle-like speckles of a slightly brighter blue. These markings, however, are only noticeable upon close inspection. Unlike Pinch, he is a large creature. He rivals many blacks and browns for size. His build is purely muscular, much like a higher ranking dragon. In fact, it seems as though a particularly small bronze was painted with a lovely blue.
Personality: Ryieh is quite the chatterbox. He always has a story to tell his, but in his hyperactive excitement, it is not always coherent. He disappears on adventures, sometimes for days at a time. Sari has learned not to worry. Adventures can be teasing the Weyr’s canines, stealing food from the kitchens, or other mischievous things. Sometimes he goes on adventures to explore the land, bringing back tales and images. Sometimes, he brings back gifts--flowers, leaves, stones, or, to Sari’s dismay, fire lizard food. He is friendly, especially with other fire lizards. He speaks to all as though they are equals, and usually will do any favor for anyone, especially his bonded. He will rise to chase most females, including the occasional queen. Surprisingly for such a sweet, easygoing fire lizard, he is incredibly vain.
