Name: K’ryn Turns: 19 Turns Gender: Male Rank: Brownrider Wingsecond Sexuality: Bisexual Weyrmate: N/A
Appearance: K’ryn is considered rather handsome, which he frequently uses to his advantage. He is tall, certainly, but no giant, seeming to be a good, even, 6’ in height. His posture, straight and self-assured, only augments this. Although he is a bit slight, he is made up of strong, lean muscles. He has broad, powerful shoulders and a well-defined chest. Surprisingly, he has a deep but melodic voice, certainly a tenor and perhaps a bass. Unfortunately, this lovely tone does not translate well into music.
He has a square, masculine jaw. Thick eyebrows arch over his grey-green eyes. His finely set cheekbones give him a harsh look, which is balanced only by his kind smile. His thick hair is a dark brown. His face is quite expressive, holding a wide variety of emotions. Surprisingly for such a masculine, muscular man, he is quite graceful. He is long-legged and slender, seeming to be quite flexible. He, however, is not. Although he has a well-defined body with strong muscles, he does not look as strong as most other dragonriders.
Personality: K’ryn often has ulterior motives. He knows how to play on people’s emotions, likes, dislikes, and biases. He can manipulate people by utilizing different personas. He is easily annoyed, but it takes a lot to get him angry. When he is angry, he has a horrible temper. He can be mocking and insulting, especially when he is truly angry. Luckily, he has a very poor memory, and in many cases will be approachable again in a few weeks, considering it was the first meeting.
He is incredibly blunt. Some call him sarcastic, impolite, or callous, but he prefers blunt. He doesn’t sugarcoat the truth. He is quite intelligent, often in a sly way. He loves—rather, is addicted to—klah. Also, he is a fan of the finer things, such as wines and flowers. Needless to say, he loves dragons and their cousins.
He absolutely hates arrogant people, and, of course, smelly herbs, especially numbweed. He’d rather suffer than use numbweed, and die than eat stinky herbs. He has no fear of death, but does fear felines. On a deeper note, he is afraid of feeling embarrassment or inferiority. He defies this with an incredible self-confidence, almost to the point of arrogance and superiority.
Although he is more attracted to men, he defines himself as being bisexual. He is easily attracted to people, but rarely falls in love. He is much more into the passion of love than the emotion of it. He plays with emotions, and has broken many hearts for his own benefit. He is usually at least somewhat flirty, simply for the fun of it. He laughs and jokes quite a lot, seeming to be a friendly, optimistic person. In reality, he is simply an opportunist.
Although he can be jealous, over-protective, lying, and blunt, he is a good person to have around. Certainly, he can be kind and compassionate, often with a goofy exterior. First impressions are huge for him, if he can remember them, of course. It can cause a lifetime of love or hate. He is a strong believer in justice. He will defend his opinions and beliefs with an outspoken anger. He simply does not see the wrong in manipulating and playing mind games. To him, it is just that: a game. It's a game that he has much skill in and almost always wins.
Although he rarely gets violent, he is no pacifist. His favorite weapon is his tongue. When he calls upon it in argument, it can cause profuse bleeding of the ego. Of course, he can hold his own in a fight. Next to the more burly dragonmen, he looks like he would be weaker. Though this is true, he is not excessively weaker. What he lacks in strength he makes up for in strategy, evasion, well-thought-out blows, and the occasional dose of dirty fighting.
History: His mother, Nya, was a greenrider, and his father, T’lik was a brownrider. T’lik and Nya never really liked each other—in fact, they sometimes hated each other. Green Karth and brown Nideth loved each other, so the conflicting riders tolerated it for their dragons. It was a rarity indeed: the dragon's emotions never translated to the riders. T’lik was an immoral, ruthless man, also homophobic.
One day, Nya gave birth to a little boy, who she named Kieryn. She loved him dearly and protected him from anything that might possibly harm him. This includes his father. As detached as he was from Nya, he was even more detached from his son. His father wanted the feminine child to be manlier, tougher. One day, Kieryn became K’ryn, Impressing brown Sryoth. The poor creature was stuck in his shell, and most thought he would be horribly mutated, and would need to be killed anyways.
Luckily, little Sryoth was able to break free, proving himself to have no mutation, and instead be a very healthy and large brown. In fact, he was a lovely brown, though awkward and clumsy. The entire Weyr took a deep breath, in fact. The last egg, which had been thought to hold a horribly disfigured dragonet, actually held a large, powerful, lovely brown. The egg, however, had held the mutation: its too-thick shell almost lost the poor creature. Kieryn was surprised, but even more surprised when Sryoth reached out to him.
Impressing gave him enough strength to come out to his family. His mother accepted him, but his father removed himself from both son and mother, ripping apart the powerful bond between Karth and Nideth as well. The two dragons were heartbroken, which the angry rider simply said callously, "You'll fall in love again." Who could think one would be so uncaring to their own mindmate! Karth died from a wound in battle. She was brought back to the Weyr, and was thought to be able to live. She had no willpower to fight it, however, having been so painfully torn from her love. Nya was devastated, and fell into a long, rough depression. It weakened her immune system, and a simple virus lead her to her death.
Benden Weyr, his old home, proved to have little for him. His kind mother was gone, and his father ignored him completely. The rider pair requested to be transferred to another Weyr. He was glad to be sent to Akum, and rode Sryoth to his new home. He stuck to his ambitions in the new Weyr. He was no longer K’ryn, son of the unlikely bond of Nya and T’lik; Now he was K’ryn, brown rider of Sryoth, transfer from Benden. He rose to the Wingsecond position quickly, and hopes to become Wingleader. Sryoth rises to catch every queen and white, hoping to sire a clutch or rise in ranks, but has not yet.

Name: Sryoth Turns: 5 Turns Color: Brown (9f391e)
Appearance: Sryoth is a lovely red-brown color. In fact, some patches of him actually appear to be bright red. His coloring is beautiful, being a mosaic of artfully placed deep browns, ruddy browns, and dark crimsons. His wing membranes are a lighter color, perhaps a faded scarlet. The very tips of his wings are a dark, muddy brown. This same brown color can be found in thin streaks along his muzzle and ridges. These give him a curious look, to say the least. It doesn’t add to or subtract from his beauty, but gives him a rather interesting appearance as well. He is rather large for a brown, and can rival some bronzes in size.
Regardless, this dragon seems to have trouble maintaining his beauty on the ground. Although in the air he is strong and powerful, he is not agile or graceful, but not clumsy. On the ground, however, he cannot seem to balance well at all. He is able to stay on his feet for the most part, but often stumbles and walks with a very awkward gait. Perhaps it is because of his short but muscular legs. That would account for why he seems to waddle. Unfortunately for anyone nearby, a walking Sryoth may swing his tail around, harming or displacing anything small in comparison.
Personality: Like most browns, Sryoth is very intelligent and thoughtful, however he uses his powers of sense to get ahead or persuade others. Naturally insightful but somewhat ambitious, he is known to use his strengths to his own advantage, or his riders. He can comprehend complex ideas easily, and can always pick up on even the most hidden emotions, usually in tone or expression. He understands what the consequences, both good and bad, to every action he could take may be, and often acts accordingly. Of course, there are unseen exceptions, but this usually works well for him, giving him a reputation of being well-respected and kind wherever he goes.
He is also quite sensitive, possessing the natural ability not only understand emotions, but also help resolve differences and disputes. He is quite peaceful, but also quiet. Although stern, quiet, and ambitious, he is a gentle, kindhearted dragon as well. So long as it does not interfere with his reputation or hopes for the future, he will go out of his way to help any lost or lonely soul. He rarely speaks to any other humans when his rider is there, choosing to have K’ryn relay messages. Sometimes, however, he will speak directly to a human while with K’ryn. He never broadcasts anything. He is very calm and organized, as can be noted simply from his thought process.
