It was a nice, pleasantly warm day, perfect in the eyes of one white dragon. Saith was content to curl up in an out of the way place and watch his rider practice knife fighting. They were not busy after all, and Br'ors saw no reason to get lazy with the one skill he was best at. People saw him as weak for being blind in one eye, which was far from the truth. While it had affected his perception, it was not as crippling as some in the weyr wanted to believe. No, he managed just fine, with only occasional trouble.
Br'ors, why don't you do that later? It's so nice out, you should relax. Saith commented, yawning lightly. As far as the white was concerned, it was too nice a day to worry over more than a nice sunbath. Br'ors paused, unable to keep himself from laughing at the words of his dear Saith. "You know as well as I do that if I got as lazy as you are, I'd never get anything done." His words had a tone of good natured humor to them.
Returning his knife to his side, Br'ors took a seat on the ground, leaning back against Saith. "Though I guess I can afford to relax for a moment. We will have to get you clean soon too, your getting dirty." If I were any other dragon, I might be offended by that. "Yes, but you aren't any other dragon, you are my dear Saith."

"You need a break, Mine. You’re going to work yourself to death if you keep this up and I prefer that you live. I'm sure that many others feel the same as well," The bronze dragon, chortled into his riders mind as he lay near by the all to young weyrleader. He watched as his worked on building yet another chair, but he knew his K‘in‘s mind wasn‘t on the object he was working on. His mind was else were. More likely lost in thought about the problems currently happening in the Weyr. He felt a bit of irritation build up inside himself as his thoughts turned to this as well. The holds were more trouble then they were worth in his mind. However, regrettably, they were needed and he knew that. Still, why did they have to go and make trouble for his K‘in? And why were they so disgruntled by the clutch he had help to sire?
Tarnith had to admit that was eating at what little pride he had. There was nothing wrong with the little ones. At least that was something they should be happy with. Silly hold humans and their odd ways of thinking. He was proud of the clutch that had came from his and Dyamoth‘s flight. What right did those hold folk think they had to say that Dyamoth‘s clutch was unacceptable!? A low growl started to build in his throat and the tip of his tail started to beat the ground underneath him in his annoyance as his eyes swirled with a mixture of yellow and red. He was frustrated and angered by the whole situation. His had more important things to worry about, but did those sharding wherry brained holders care? Of course not…
K‘in was only slightly distracted by his dragon‘s words as he continued to use the wood chisel to carve a design up one of the legs of the chair. ”You‘re probably right…” he replied to the bronze flatly clearly showing that he wasn‘t really paying much attention to the large beast. His dragon was right, his mind was else were and it had been for awhile. There was so much that needed to be done and so little time to do it in. Or at least that‘s how it seemed to work in his mind. He could her the pounding of his dragon‘s tail against the hard surface of the ground and he knew the dragon was irritated. Tarnith didn‘t have to do that to let him know he was irritated though. He could feel the dragons irritation and frustration. He also knew why the dragon was in such a mood. It was more then obvious.
They didn‘t have enough candidates for the clutch that was currently on the sands. A issues not easily solved with one of the hold rebelling against the Weyr. He was determined to think of someway to resolve that issue. He knew what they had to do to resolve this issue though. They had to find a way to prove the strength of the Weyr. He didn‘t want the Weyr to lose the holds that had been tithing to it for so many turns. He could however understand their fear. The Weyr was wing light and that worried him as well. He was more then sure that it worried everyone. Messages had been sent out to every Weyr on person asking for transfers and many had come. Not enough though. Not nearly enough to put the Weyr at full strength again or close to it. The fact that Dyamoth‘s clutch was a small one was another issue and when he thought this, he heard another growl come from his dragon.
He turned away from his work and looked at his dragon when he heard the sound and he saw Tarnith‘s irritated gaze on him. K‘in chuckles when he was this and shook his head a little when he saw this. ”I‘m sorry, Tarnith. I didn‘t mean to insult you, Dyamoth, or your children with that thought. It is a small clutch though. I am sure it‘s not either of your faults. It‘s just how things turned out,” he apologized in a attempt to consol his dragon. He really hadn‘t meant to insult the bronze with his thoughts, but it was a unavoidable thought. He knew his dragon understood when he laid his head back on the ground and gave a little humph. ”There is nothing wrong with having a small clutch as long as the little ones inside are healthy and strong,” the dragon muttered into his mind as he did this.
K‘in nodded to the dragon as he put the tools in his hands on top of the seat of the chair he was working on and then he stood erect. There was a slight aching in his back from slouching to do his work for so long, but he just twisted to his left and right, relieving it of the pain with a loud crackling sounds. ”You‘re right, Tarn. As long as they are healthy, they will be a great help to the Weyr. I am sure they will be dragons to be proud,” K‘in replied to his dragon’s comment earnestly as he gave the dragon a loving smile. He could feel Tarnith‘s mood pick up almost instantly when he said this. To be honest that was exactly why he head thought to say it. The bronze dragon seemed to be in a foul mood as of late and that just wasn‘t like him at all. Yes, he did get angry and he got angry fast. It didn‘t seem to last long though. Now he seemed to be irritated most of the time. Maybe a break from all of this thinking was what they needed?
”So, how about that break you mentioned earlier. It‘s nice and sunny outside. Maybe a little sun bathing is called for?” K‘in said to the dragon and waited to see how the dragon would react. His head seemed to instantly pop up when he heard this and his eyes danced from the red/yellow coloring to the lime green of astonishment. K‘in couldn‘t help but laugh at this when he saw it and when he heard what the dragon had to say in reply to his question. “Wait, you’re actually going to step away from your work to go sunbathing? Are you not feeling well, K‘inMine? I keep on telling you to much work would kill you or make you sick. I never actually believed it though,” of course, the dragon was being completely unserious when he said that. Other then the fact that he usually didn‘t go sunbathing when there was stuff to be done. He was a diligent person and he did tend to work himself until he couldn‘t move anymore or he fall asleep. However, he was doing this for Tarnith and he really did need to do something other then think and work on random stuff around the Weyr. Tarnith was right, he needed a break.
”You aren‘t interested anymore? Very well, we can just stay here and I will continue to work then, “ K‘in kidded right back as he turned back to his unfinished work and reached out to grab the tools he had disposed of to continue the joke. The large bronze just gave a rumble of amusement at this and said, If you don‘t get on my back right now, I will drag you out of here and carry you to the weyrbowl with my tail. I will also make sure you hit every ledge on the way down, the dragon‘s words sounded more earnest then he was comfortable with as he turned away from the chair and lifted his brow at the dragon. There was amusement dancing in the dragon‘s eyes though when their eyes met and he just shook his head and said, ”I guess there is no other choice then. Let‘s go to the bowl then Tarnith, he said as he walked over to the dragon and pulled himself on to the dragons large neck using the straps around it. Strapping himself to the dragon‘s body, he held on to the leather strap before him as the dragon leapt off to the ledge of their weyr and headed for the bowl bellow.
Soaring downwards through the air, Tarnith stopped before he got to close to the ground. K‘in scanned the bowl bellow for a good place to land and possibly some good company to go along with it. Hopefully not about the current problems they were having though. Of course, he would not avoid any questions or comments on the matter. He just wanted to try and get his mind off of everything at the moment. He wanted to relax a little. As he thought this, that Tarnith piped up in his head and made a suggestion for him, ”It looks like Saith and his had the same idea, Mine. Maybe we should visit them for awhile?” K‘in considered the idea for only a moment, then said, ”Sure, why not? It‘s been awhile sense we last talked. It would mind a friendly conversation with him.” and with that, Tarnith headed straight for the junior weyrleader and his white dragon.
Landing near by, K‘in unstrapped himself from the bronze as Tarnith bent down to allow him easier access to the ground bellow. Sliding off the dragons back and landing on the ground with a thud, K‘in gave the other man and his dragon a nod of greeting and stepped towards them with a smile on his face. “Hello Br‘ors, may I join you and Saith for a little while? Me and Tarnith decided to step out and get a little sun before it got to late,” K‘in requested good naturedly as his dragon walked up and sat down beside were he stood. K‘in reached over and patted the dragons side affectionately as continued to speak to the junior weyrleader, ”We can‘t stay long though. So much to do with so little time in the day.”
Tarnith gave his rider a weird look when he heard the last thing his rider had to say and shook his head in exasperation. Then turned his attentions to the white dragon that lay before them. Hello Saith. How are you and yours doing this sunny day? As you can see, Mine is attempting to work himself to death again. He really needs to learn how to work in moderation and have more fun, he said with a rumble of laughter at the end as he looked upon Saith with dark green swirling in his eyes. He was content. The sun was hot on his body filling his with it‘s warm and he and his rider were out of their weyr. Add on the hopeful good company and this was bound to be a good day. Even if it wouldn‘t last for every long because his K‘in liked to over work himself. It was something though. He was just glad his had decided to take a break.
