Name: Daemin ( D'min ) Turns: 21 Gender: Male Rank: Weyrling Sexuality: Hetero Weyrmate: no
Appearance: Play-by: Craig Horner
Daemin is a sturdy lad standing 5 feet and 11 inches tall. His body displays lean muscle, the definition crisp under his golden, sun-kissed skin. He sports chocolate tresses that is generally unkempt. The cut is shaggy but short, especially during the hottest times of the year, yet no matter the cut, remains as carefree as he is.
Daemin typically wears light clothing and short pants, usually in bright colors to better reflect the summer sun. He prefers light yellows and greens over most any other color, though he'll readily wear whatever he's given. When he smiles, it is like the rays of the summer sun shine upon you, his white teeth a beacon for what warmth he provides from within. His smile reaches right into his eyes. Eyes that are a captivating brown. A child of the sea, Daemin moves with the liquid grace of one who has spent a lot of time on (and in) the water. After years of swimming with the shipfish, Daemin has the gentle scent of the sea about him.
Personality:
Even at a young age, Daemin was a cheerful boy. Always quick with a smile, and quicker yet with a laugh, even if a joke wasn't all that funny. Whenever someone was down, Daemin seemed to know just the thing to turn a frown upside down. Even if it meant pulling a prank one someone else. Of course, such antics would get him into trouble, yet it would all work out right in the end. But he never let even the harshest punishement bring down his mood.
His mother had the hardest time keeping up with him. From the moment he awoke, to the moment his head would hit his pillow, Daemin would be going and going. It was his father that found an outlet for his son's energy. He would rise every morning and go to Southern Weyr and help the riders wash their dragons often times swimming with them in the sea, and clean out the weyrs. He even helped entertain the younger children in both Southern Weyr and Honshu. He could spend hours playing the games that would other wise exhaust the grown ups.
Despite his child-like nature, Daemin had a level head on his shoulders. He always knew what he was about, and never dallied in his chores. He learned all his lessons, and worked hard. He'd spend hours in the ocean with the shipfish, learning to understand their noises, and playing their games. He learned to fish, as well. He has a great appreciation of the sea, of dragons, and of life itself. He was also a natural born leader, keeping all the other kids in line (even if that line wasn't always so straight). Everyone knew that if all the kids were up to something, it was because Daemin had plotted it out. The other kids just naturally followed his lead.
History:
Daemin grow up in Honshu Hold on the Soutern Continent. His parents had moved there shortly after one of the fishing ships his father worked on had been sunk. His mother wanted to learn to be a Star Watcher. His father just wanted a change of scenery from the Northern shore line, as he was a fisherman. Daemin was born a Turn later. He spent most of his childhood playing in the ocean with the other children and the shipfish - or dolphins as many now called them.
Not too many exciting things happened while he grew up. He saw plenty of dragons come and go, as they had seem to become letter carriers between the Northern and Southern Continents. Runners still ran messages along the grounds, but the dragons were used when the newes of the utmost importance and had to reach it's target fast. Other than that, his life was pretty uneventful. He'd had a few girlfriends, even had a few relationships with other boys his age. And then he was searched.
Since he's been at Akum Weyr only a short time, (one turn before the hatching that changed his life ) he's already managed to get himself into trouble a few times (only once or twice according to him) but it's been "no big deal". He's spent a lot of time with the dragons, the firelizards, and the even the wher's who will tolerate him. He's a bit weary of the fire-birds, though, and gives them a respectable amount of space. He misses the sea, but knows that if he just waits, he'll see it again. And when he does, he hopes it will be from the back of his own dragon. If not, then he will just as happily return home to become an Ocean Watcher (oceanographer). in the mean time, he goes to his classes and does his chores with the same diligence as he would at home, and with the same spunk.
At the day of the hatching, he stood with the other boys. His stomach churning in a combination of excitement and nervousness. He could handle it if he was rejected. He still had a couple more Turns in which he could stand. Plus, he had a back up plan. One that had been his primary plan, but when he was searched, it took last place.
He watched nervously as the first of the eggs shook. This one was a little bigger than the others, and such a briliant bronze one would think it was made of metal. But it shook and shook. But no cracks. He and a few other boys watched with baited breath as it shook. Other eggs had begun to crack and hatch. Their dragons careening and wailing as they found their life mates.
Finally the little bronze egg broke open, and spilled it's akward inhabitant onto the sand, on it's back. The little dragon flailed, creening as he tried to roll over. D'min! Help me! I can't get up!
Without much pause he raced forward. I'm here. Stop kicking! He commanded as he rolled the dragon over.
Oh thank you, D'min! Thank you! Myrth was SURE he was never going to get up! Now where is my food? The little dragon demanded as he started shoving his snouth everywhere on D'min in search for a meal.
Stop nibbling on me. Here, and he shoved a piece of meat into Myrths mouth as a bowl was handed to him.
And from then on, he became D'min, rider of Bronze Myrth. The jokers.
But their happiness was to be short lived. He was out in the weyr bowl, peforming the normal, routine duties of any weyrling during an unexpeted Threadfall. The storm that had been predicted never came, and since there were no clouds to stop the deadly spores, they fell freely.
Dragons and their riders had been rushed. Things weren't done exactly to their usual high standards. First it was only minor injuries, easily treated, and pairs sent back to fight. The last wing had vanished into the skies. Those on the ground waited for them to return. Suddenly, all the newly hatched dragons and their riders cried out as dragons and riders were suddenly gone forever between.
Three years have passed. D'min and Myrth are closer than ever, and continuing to make others laugh. It has been their private duty to make sure the tragic incident three turns ago does not leave it's gloomy mark on the lives of their fellow riders.

Name: Myrth Turns: 3 Turns Color: Bronze Hex Code: #CC9933
Appearance: Myrth was a bit of a runt-ling when he hatched, for a bronze. Not many thought he would make it past his first week. Well, he surprised them. His hide is a rich copper-bronze, with swirls of orange in various hues. With help from his rider, he keeps his hide clean of dirt, and free of parasites. At a turn old, his already dwarfs the tallest blue by at least a head.
Personality: Myrth is a bit of a jester, which is odd for a Bronze. Liking to 'joke'. D'min read some history about Ruth, and how he was described as having a similar personality. Apparently a dragon with a sense of humor is a rare thing. Even with this personality quirk, Myrth is loyal to his rider, and his fellow dragons. He also has an uncanny way of dissecting a situation and then acting upon what he feels is the best strategy, always discussing it with D'min first, of course. The two often think enough alike that the decision is made before either says a thing to the other. If Myrth weren't a dragon, people would think he and D'min were twins.

I'm sorry to say it, but your character didn't win the contest. Though this may be true, feel free to change this character to something else if you want. You may also just delete it if your not interested though. Whatever you want is alright with me. Just inform me that you have finished if you decide to revamp him ^^

The only problem I see is that his personality is more fitting for a blue then a bronze. He needs more leadership skills to be frank. He has the outgoing personality going for him. That's for sure. If you could possibly point out more of his leadership qualities or go more in depth with the ones he already has, I would be very thankful. Also, how long has he been in Akum?

Shori - there was no Bronze in Hopeth's clutch. I wrote that clutch. There was a Brown - the Lunar, and the Eclipse and the Celestial. The rest were Blues and Greens.

Gah! I made a mistake! I'm so sorry! I forgot that we had taken out the Bronze for the Eclipse... -feels horrible- If you would still like a character from the Weyr, we do have two bronze openings from Myndith's clutch still if you would like to take one of those? You would just have to increase the dragon to three turns and increase the history a little to fit. Whatever you prefer is just fine.

Yet again, I agree with Ame. You fixed him up well after my mistake and I'm still very sorry for that. I will try not to let that happen again.
ACCEPTED AS BRONZERIDER D'MIN AND BRONZE MYRTH
