((Currently remodeling this character. Man I sucked at this a year ago... ))
| - Human Bio - |
Name: K'in
Turns: 20 turns
Gender: Male
Rank: Weyrleader
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Weyrmate: None
Appearance:
K'in is a nicely built man, standing at 6'0" and weighing a estimated 191lbs, K'in is more on the tall side and on the muscular side as well. Though K'in has a lot of muscle on him, it does not show much outwardly unless you take off all of this clothing. K'in often has a very stern look, do to his position, but that doesn't stop him from smiling and looking content on occasions.
K'in's black hair was once considered a little to long for his own good, but after he became a rider, he was forced to cut it to about shoulder length and he has keep it at the length since then. Though his hair is normally nice and straight, K'in's hair seemed to get a little natural curl when he cute it, but he doesn't find it unattractive. His eyes, which are a deep blue, often show his understanding and care for others, but they have also been known to show his great temper as well.
K'in is not big on the whole fashion seen. As long as he is comfortable, nothing else really seems to matter. He doesn't like the richness of jewels, and other such things, seeing as he sees them as being only material and he does not revolve his life around material needs.
Personality:
K'in is well known for his strong will and out standing leadership skills. Stern yet kind at the same time, K'in handles every situation he comes upon with a cool head and a stead fast determination to resolve any issues he may stumble upon. Putting the weyr, the holds, and their people before him in all aspects, K'in will do anything to insure the safety of all of the people under his care even going as far as sacrificing his own safety for another. It is said that he would go as far as sacrificing his own life to save those he feels are strictly under his protection. This man also holds a great sense of honor and clings to the belief that honorable actions will create honorable outcomes.
Though he seems to be a very nice guy thus far, K'in has been known to lose his temper at time as well. After all, he is only human. The quickest way to get on his nerves though, is to threaten those he protects or prevent him from doing what needs to be done for the Weyr and its Holds. Though this has only happened very few times, people have learned not to get on K'in's bad side. This man also doesn’t take betrayal well or anything else he finds un-honorable for that matter. He despises those that believe gaining leadership is to improve their own lives and not the people they are leading. K’in believes the people are the reason why leadership exist and a leaders position is to make the lives of the people easier. Not the other way around.
Now that I am done with the serious side of K'in, it's time to mention his fun and some what sporadic side. Know for his interesting sense of humor and even more interesting acts of momentary stupidity, K'in tends to crack joke at the most unexpected times, usually to settle tension. Though many of these joke are not funny in the least, he tells them in a way and at a time that would make anyone laugh in amusement or surprise. This man also tends to have a very sarcastic sense of humor at times as well, but it’s a gentle sarcasm with no intention of hurting any ones feelings. That is, unless he is angry, stressed, or upset. This is usually when he unintentionally develops a very stinging sense of sarcastic humor.
When K'in feels like he is getting stressed or upset, this young man tends to go somewhere he can avoid people so he can think without getting disturbed. This Weyrleader also tends to put himself to work when he is formulating possible plans and ideas for the protection of the Weyr and Holds. Then again, he also tends to keep himself busy when not contimplating these things as well. He believes being diligent is the path he should take to help the distressed Weyr. This is probably also because he can't stand others working hard well he does nothing as well. He has no intention of letting any of his skills go to waits when they could be used to help the place he has sworn to protect.
History:
Born in Splinter Wood Hold, K'in was believed to be the son of a woodcrafter and the Hold's chief cook, but he was also believe to be the bastard son of the lord holder by some as well. Raised with the knowledge that the person he called father, may not be so, didn't seem to faze him though. He loved his family more then anything else and didn't even seem to mind the teasing the rumor seemed to cause.
Growing up in a hold that Tithed to Akum Weyr was not a easy life for many now that the unknown plague was running through it, killing off all the winged beasts including the few Fire-Birds Splinter Wood Hold had under it's leash. A great fear ran through the hold as stories of dragon deaths and Fire-Bird deaths in every part of the weyr reached the hold's ears. But being K'in, he took it all calmly and did what was needed of him for the hold.
As he grew up, he worked hard, and he got everything he has with hard work. Sometimes life was unbelievably hard for him, but he didn't let that get him down. He knew that if he let himself and his hold give up hope that they would all die, so he stood strongly on the belief that everything would be alright and encouraged others in Splinter Wood to do the same.
When the searchriders came to Splinter Wood Hold, he was busy working on fixing one of the many broken items in the hold. This time it was a door, when the dragons head swung through the window and stared straight at him. He was startled to all hell, but the blue dragon told him he was chosen for a candidate and thus he left the hold to become a dragon rider of Akum Weyr.
On arriving at the weyr, he started to work hard, like any other Candidate to reach his goal of becoming a dragon rider and gaining the ability to protect the people of the weyr. It was not long after he got searched that Myndith, the aging queen dragon, clutched and produced a clutch of 21 eggs. After this, Myndith took to the plague and /betweened/. Though the weyr was saddened by the death of the queen dragon, a new hope was born in the new queen egg that lay upon the sands along with it's 20 brothers and sisters.
When the day of the hatching finally came and the candidates went to the sands to be chosen. He thought he was going to be left on the sands, because as the hatching went on... Nothing impressed to him. He felt his heart fall, and thats when Tarnith came to him, and he impressed. K'in was over overjoyed when the bronze came to him and chose him and together they worked to become strong to protect the Weyr and holds of Akum.
His happiness did not last long though, not long after the hatching signs of thread fall filled the sky and it was obvious that the young dragons and riders were not ready to fight the threat that had fallen upon them. Doing the only thing the weyr could, K'in watched as the last Wing of Akum took flight and feeling completely helpless. To his and the Weyrfolks great horror, it did not take long for the last wing to fell under the storm of thread. But not even then did K'in give up hope that they would live and he was right for when all seemed lost. A large, dragon sized Fire-Bird flew through the air and absorbed the thread that fell.
After the threat of thread was decimated, K'in watched with the others as the white took to the sands and left a enormous clutch of 50 eggs upon the sands, then it took flight and Ashed before their eyes.

Name: Tarnith
Turns: 3
Color: Bronze
Appearance:
Being one of the larger bronzes in pernese history, Tarnith is also known to have a muscular and bulky body. This dragon has a deceivingly regal presence sometimes much of the time. But he seems to ruin it by doing something completely goofy more often then not. Being one of the bigger bronzes, Tarnith is not made for speed. He is made more for long flights and long fighting rounds during thread fall. Do to his big size, he needs a lot more nutrition then most and tends to eat a lot. He isn’t gluttonous though. He only eats what is necessary for him to get full. Tarnith has a long scare across his left shoulder that he got when he was a hatchling from one of his brown brothers and his dark bronze hide has some lighter hues of bronze along his eye ridges. This lighter color also seems to speckle it’s self all along the inner sides of his wings like freckles.
Personality:
Tarnith is very interesting for a bronze dragon to say the least. Being much like his rider in many ways, this dragon shares his riders determination and his will to protect those around him from danger. Though he is a lot like his rider, this dragon rarely acts serious. He tends to goof off a lot and he tends to have a very playful nature for the most part. At least when he doesn’t have to be serious. When the situation calls for seriousness, Tarnith becomes the bronze people would expect him to be. He usually reserves this for times such as thread fall and politics. Other then that, he tends to be pretty carefree and outgoing. He does have quite a temper on him when people/dragons push the right buttons though. Infact, it seems to be ten times worse then anything his rider could muster. Like his rider, Tarnith has a great sense of humor as well though. He has been known to have a funny bone a mile wide and uses it to cheer people up most of the time. He is a very compassionate dragon that likes to see others happy and enjoying life as much as he does.
